What did God at first reveal to man for the rule of his obedience?

Were there positive institutions under the old testament?

Proof: There were meats, and drinks, and diverse washings and carnal ordinances, (Hebrews 9:10)

Were these suited to the infant state of the church?

Answer: Yes.

Proof: Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world, (Galatians 4:3)

But are they now abolished?

Answer: Yes.

Is it our great mercy to be free from them?

Answer: Yes.

Do we owe this liberty to Christ?

But is the moral law the principal rule of obedience?
