Do we not have perfect rule of goodness in the Law?

Yes, and therefore God demands nothing from us, but to follow it; and, on the other hand, repudiates and rejects all that a man undertakes to do beyond what it contains. The only sacrifice He requires is obedience (1Sa 15:22; Jer 7:21-23).
